Metro Connectivity to Hosur Road

Chennai Metro Train Corporation (CMRL) asked permission to do a feasibility study on the 20-kilometer train link between the IT city and the nearby industrial town. Once the central government approves, the CMRL will hold a bidding process to find an expert to do a feasibility study on the inter-state Metro train link. The Karnataka government had already decided to widen the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMCRL) project from Bommasandra to Hosur and told the national government about it in 2022. People who drive to Hosur Road every day as the train goes. For the metro connectivity to Hosur road, the 20.5 km stretch comprises 11.7 km in Karnataka and 8.8 km in Tamil Nadu.

The Tamil Nadu government will pay for a study to see if the idea could work. If the project goes ahead, this could be the first underground line in South India that goes from one state to the next. The Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs asked the BMRCL to figure out how to connect Bommasandra and the metro to Hosur Road. Metro connectivity to Hosur Road is helping thousands of workers because Hosur is an industrial town next to India's IT city. Along the Metro line, there are 16 stops. It starts at Rashtriya Vidyalaya (RV) Road in South Bengaluru and ends at Bommasandra, which is next to Electronic City, a major IT/BT hub in Bengaluru. People think building the yellow line will cost Rs 1,308 crore.
