Chennai Metro Train Corporation (CMRL) asked permission to do a feasibility study on the 20-kilometer train link between the IT city and the nearby industrial town. Once the central government approves, the CMRL will hold a bidding process to find an expert to do a feasibility study on the inter-state Metro train link. The Karnataka government had already decided to widen the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMCRL) project from Bommasandra to Hosur and told the national government about it in 2022.
